Project Spotlight: 70's Rancher Redo

This 1970's basement rancher was in tremendous need of a facelift. The goal was to open up the main areas in order to take advantage of natural light and allow the space to function within the client's lifestyle. These clients were wonderful to work with, allowing us the freedom to take artistic liberties as we moved through the project. It might look like a million dollars, but this renovation was completed on a modest budget with mid-grade materials. What makes it work? The secret to success in this project was most certainly the homeowner's flexibility paired with a beautiful design plan and well-executed high-quality trade work.

Project Spotlight: Lakefront Redesign

Every home has potential, and this large scale renovation became an opportunity to impress. The homeowners came to us with their own exterior elevation plans, second floor addition layout, design selections, and furnishings. We constructed a dream home. Heritage Homes & Designs not only constructed this home according to the homeowner's plans, but also jumped at the opportunity to redesign one part of the project...the kitchen. Originally a lakefront stucco basement rancher, this not only became an instant showstopper, but also an investment with immediate positive equity.

Project Spotlight: Cottage Kitchen

The perfect kitchen for a small cottage home, this renovation required some custom details. With two young children and lots of entertaining, these clients were ready for a kitchen that suited their lifestyle. Without making changes to the footprint, we reworked the layout slightly in order to create a more functional and safe work space. The cabinets were built by one of our skilled carpenters, and the custom details were carried over into other parts of the room. We also gave purpose to the small hallway tucked around the corner by adding a recessed pocket with hooks and shelving and a floor to ceiling magnet board on the opposite wall for the kids to display their art and parents to organize their calendars.

Project Spotlight: A Clean Slate

We often call this "The Dollhouse". It was the perfect small home for a new family, and our clients were fixing it up for their daughter and her family to enjoy. We often encounter homes with a great footprint that just need a facelift, this was one of those homes. The original home had the water heater on display in the kitchen, which also severely limited the functional cabinet space and downsized the kitchen to a small counter area and floating refrigerator. The floors had original hardwood beneath two layers of carpeting, and many of the walls were covered in grasscloth paper. We worked to peel back a lot of layers, and the result was worth every ounce.
